Mechanism Design Software for Machines
All packaging machines move. Yet, traditional CAD is static. Have you ever tried animating complex mechanisms, with cam mechanisms, using your CAD system? It can be frustrating. MechDesigner is different. MechDesigner assumes from the start that you want your machine to move. The core of MechDesigner is designed to model mechanical movement in machines. You start by designing the movements of your tooling. Then you add the mechanisms that can generate the motion. You make sure that your machine concept makes sense by animating its machine-material interactions in real time. MechDesigner has at is core a fast kinematic analysis solver. You can model anything - from simple 4 bar linkage mechanisms, to complex, multi-axis machines, with as many mechanisms as you want.

Delta RobotMechDesigner has been used to model a Delta Robot - a spatial mechanism. First MotionDesigner defines the motion of the robot's end effector using 3 separate X,Y and Z motions. Because the end effector is translating, we can use a simple kinematic representation of the Delta robot by replacing the parallel links with a simpler SSR dyad. View more >>> |

Case Packers, Rotary Labellers, FillersCase Packers usually have mechanisms to erect or form the case, load the product, and then glue and close all the panels. This is typical in many Packaging Machines. The mechanisms can be a mixture of cams with cam-followers, air-cylinders and servo motors. View more >>> |

Multi Axis Cam and Follower MechanismsMechDesigner has modeled a six axis "Do Nothing Machine". This demonstrates the: multi-axis, cam and cam follower design, spatial mechanisms. inverse kinematics, 3D moving CAD/CAE capabilities of MechDesigner. View more >>> |

Cam and Follower Design and OptimizationA good mechanism design arrangement, or layout, is a long way towards obtaining a cam and follower mechanism with a long production life-time. In MechDesigner, you can look at Pressure Angles, Radius of Curvature, Transmission Angles, Part Masses, Moments of Inertia, Velocity and Acceleration of all the parts, points and joints. These are all 'Kinematic Design and Analysis Parameters'. View more >>> |
